I've been saying it for years! Make your home and garden cozy so that you can also be happy with your own place when you're not going on holiday!
And that you can come a long way with a lick of paint is actually my first tip!
A little piece of Sweden arrived in our garden last week. And in this blog I show how this small metamorphosis came about!
7 years ago we met Moose Color. Swedish paint 20 brought to the Netherlands years ago by Jan Smit.
Jan often went on holiday to Sweden with his family, and one day had the idea to take home a jar of Swedish paint.
He immediately noticed that the paint was so easy to paint and was so beautifully matte. It smelled nice too; and was very nice to work with. That's how it started. Friends asked about it and one thing led to another.
It has now grown into a family business. Daughter Ryanne now also works in the company.
Environmentally friendly product
We came ourselves 7 years ago in the Moose Färg webshop. We were looking for a durable paint for our fence. Environmentally friendly and without solvents. Because you just need a fence 1 x manufacture , and preferably not for years afterwards, (or never again!), the paint had to be extremely strong.
Moose Färg had these qualities. And this, together with our weakness for Scandinavian style, the choice was quickly made. TIP: An investment in good paint will give you years of pleasure without maintenance!
Moose Färg is based on the beautiful Swedish color palette. It is the most typicalSwedish red, a beautiful deep red which is just like theblack stain is colored with earth pigments.
Moose Färg's color palette
Moose Färg is based on the age-old Swedish paint recipe, in which natural raw materials such as linseed oil and earth pigment are used.
This creates the uniqueness, matt appearance of the color stain.
The paint is especially suitable on wood, but can also be used very well on indoor and outdoor walls.
The paint is now in place 7 on the fence for years and has become slightly lighter over the years, but still beautiful in color!
Concrete wall pimp
Last year we expanded our small city garden. There was a path behind our garden where a few local residents have the right of way. Because this path was hardly used, and every meter in a smaller garden is welcome, we decided to take this path near the garden. Fence out, and meters added!
The neighbors can still pass behind the gardens, but now take a walk through our fence-less garden. In practice this is only a few times a year, and the neighbors are nice so that's completely fine!
But because our fence was removed, we suddenly looked at a concrete wall. This is a wall of the supermarket at the back. The wall with small stones looks messy in combination with the rest of the garden.
There was a bit of unity missing. And the wall gave the feeling that it was not our garden.
Light Blue Lichtblauw
Because the fence was already blue, we thought it would be better to continue this. This way the garden looks a lot calmer and you get more of a whole. And a blue color gives a bit of a holiday feeling! Just think of blue walls / window frames in France, for example. This was also my source of inspiration for this choice.
The blue is fresh and also a beautiful color palette to combine with flowers and furniture.
The wall is very bumpy due to the stones, so I was a bit nervous about how the paint would turn out.
The paint looks gray-blue, but turns blue.
The paint is odorless, and quite thin, and therefore spread very easily between the stones. It is applied with a block brush.
The paint covers so well 1 low was sufficient. I had a bucket of it 4 liter, and this one went 3 quarter up. We were in 1,5 hour already done 2 personen.
The result is a fresh wall and a complete garden!
The garden is now in autumn atmosphere, but in the summer when the purple flowers emerge on the fence, it will combine beautifully with this blue base!
The sun always starts at the back of the garden for us. That's why I placed a nice, comfortable garden bench in front of the blue wall. This one is from XENOS.
Enjoy a cup of coffee in the sun, a wonderful start to the day!
I am very happy with this extra spot in the garden!
