Misschien ken je ze nog wel uit de jaren 70. De zogeheten “Papasan” stoel oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit Indonesië . Een ronde rotan/bamboe stoel met een heerlijk zacht “nest” zitvlak.

Jaren 70

In the years 70 zag je veel bamboe en rotan in het interieur. En de papasan stoel was ook zo’n typische stoel uit die tijd. Ik keek al een tijdje uit naar zo’n stoel in de kringloopwinkel. Maar als ik een keer zoiets zag staan, was het kussen vies, of het onderstel donkerbruin. Vintage is vaak heel tof, maar soms ook niet meer fris. Ik besloot te gaan zoeken naar een nieuwe versie.

Na een tijdje speuren op internet zag ik al snel een hele mooie variant staan bij webshop OTTO. Naast mode, hebben ze namelijk ook een categorie wonen

En daar stond de Papasan stoel die ik zocht!

Ik zag eerst een witte variant. Rotan kleur

Ik besloot voor de natuurlijke rotan kleur te gaan. Door OTTO “ecru” genoemd. Juist deze natuurlijke kleuren zie je steeds meer terugkomen in het interieur. Wood, puur, basic is helemaal de trend van nu.

Ik bestelde de stoel van 100cm doorsnede. De 80cm leek mij voor volwassenen wat krap, (wel leuk voor een kinderkamer! ) en de 110cm leek mij te aanwezig.

Na 2 weken had ik de stoel in huis ! Naast dat ie ontzettend gezellig staat, zit hij ook nog eens zalig. Het bovenstuk staat los op het onderstel, dus je kunt ook nog eens zitten in verschillende standen. Ik wil de stoel gebruiken voor binnen en buiten. Sinds we een nieuwe tuin hebben met houten vlonders, zet ik geregeld ons binnen interieur naar buiten. Het voelt echt als een stukje extra woonkamer in de buitenlucht. En waarom zou je dan op een harde tuinstoel gaan zitten, als je ook een lekkere fauteuil hebt staan?
