On Instagram I first came into contact with WHAT?. A company specialized in the custom production of furniture and kitchen fronts.

And especially focused on the budget furniture and kitchens from IKEA. Now you may be thinking why this combination? That's in the price.

When you choose an IKEA cabinet or kitchen, Do you have a great product for a low price?. Only you are always stuck with an IKEA collection. And you then depend on this quality. And this last one could be better found KAYAPA!

The idea is as follows; You have or buy a budget-friendly IKEA kitchen with good warranty conditions. But you then place other doors of a very high quality in the most original colors and patterns! How?

WHAT? has an exclusive collaboration with an ITALIAN factory where incredibly beautiful and also expensive kitchens are made. And from this factory all fronts and panels come from KAYAPA!

And because you only take the doors and fronts, do you have the same doors and look at home but for a fraction of the price you normally have to buy the kitchen for! If that's not a clever trick?

A simple example sum: You buy a small kitchen (frame) at IKEA for €800 you can then have custom fronts made at KAYAPA for €1500,-

You have a total kitchen for €2300,- (excl content cabinets)

With a look and feel of a kitchen that you normally pay 4 times as much for!

And it's bad too duurzaam, because the good quality of the doors makes the kitchen last much longer!

IKEA METOD frames

Kayapa fronts are made for IKEA METOD cabinets. These are the cabinets that have been sold in recent years. TIP: Do you want to pimp an existing kitchen? Check if these are these cabinets.

But when you are going to buy the kitchen you will automatically receive this series.

Coincidentally we had this one keuken standing and a pimp was certainly desirable. KAYAPA offered me to give our kitchen a makeover in exchange for a review and an instructional video.

Veddinge grey

Our kitchen wasn't that old yet, but we chose the cheapest doors at the time. Veddinge grey. A door with an average price of €23.

To save money we didn't cover the cabinets with panels. Sometimes you are in the middle of a renovation and the budget is small and you make certain choices to save.

The result was a very nice kitchen on the eye, but not a very sustainable choice. At some point you will get some spots due to the thin lacquer layer.

And now I got the chance to give this kitchen a big upgrade with KAYAPA!

To make a good choice of the right fronts I got samples post life. By the way, this was a party to unpack!

Through the website I chose (FREE 3 SAMPLES met code KAYAPA3 ) some favorite colors. After a few days I already had the packages at home. Nice thick heavy sample. That already promised a lot of good.

The choice was immediately clear to me. I thought black was way too dark for our small windowless kitchen. Gray and white shades were boring with the white tiles.

I therefore decided to go for a very nice contrast color: CAPRI. Green of the cooler color side. A shade that combines very well with gold.

And let KAYAPA too gold buttons hebben! The choice was made, and waiting for (slechts) started a few weeks ago.

Online guidance

To make sure you order exactly the right size doors, you can video call a KAYAPA kitchen specialist. I did this, because of course you don't want to make mistakes when ordering online!

Together with the specialist you view all cabinets and receive good guidance with your order.

I received a 3D drawing. Very nice to see a preview of your future kitchen!

KAYAPA DIY

Normally it is the intention that you (or a hired handyman) place the new doors in your kitchen. But because I made my kitchen available for the instruction video, KAYAPA came to do this for me.

After a day of work they had the kitchen in it. And what a difference!
The fact that even the wall cabinets were now framed with panels gave the cabinet so much more body. The doors are quite a bit thicker. This gives a luxurious feeling when you open and close them.

And I'm so happy with this huge upgrade!
