De Wassily-stoel is een ontwerp van Marcel Breuer uit 1925 en staat ook wel bekend als de B3-stoel. Hij is gemaakt van vernikkeld staal (later verchroomd), canvas of leer in zwart of rood. Ik heb een zwak voor metalen frames. Naast onze bank, hebben ook onze eetkamerstoelen een buizenframe. Zo’n frame in combinatie met leer of stof maakt het weer een stuk minder kil maar wel mooi strak. En als het basis interieur een beetje strak is, geeft dit weer rust als je wel weer van kleurige accessoires houdt.

Overigens is het moeilijk in te schatten wat de waarde is van mijn stoel. De prijzen variëren van 200 tot 2000 euro. De dure stoelen hebben het echte merk certificaat en een merkje. De goedkopere versies niet. Mijn stoel heeft geen merkje, dus is waarschijnlijk een replica. Desondanks geen probleem voor mij want de stoel is van mooi dik leer gemaakt en is niet van echt te onderscheiden.
