You may know it. You have a new home, the bathroom is fairly new and neat, but not quite your taste. A shame of course to demolish a good bathroom.

But what do you do with that gnawing styling feeling in the back of your mind?

This has actually been my situation for the past few years. I didn't like the bathroom very much, but it was of good quality, and further fulfilled all requirements. A nice bath, a good shower and enough space.

Yet it never felt quite like my bathroom but more like a bathroom where I was a guest. When I got the offer to have a look in sanitairwinkel.nl for a blog collaboration, I suddenly got the great idea to make the bathroom my own with a number of easy additions! More about this….

Terra colors

The color Terra proves that a trend sometimes returns. We saw this color a lot in the early years 90, and now we see it popping up again.

My bathroom also has terra shades. When we got here 5 came to live years ago I thought it was terrible. But now that the Terra color is starting to appear again, I am going to love it a bit again. That's how it often works with trends. As long as you see it often enough, you get used to it, and sometimes even love!

I decided to use this terra color to continue embroidering. I wanted to give the bathroom a natural "vibe". Something you can do very well with a terra base. And plants fit in perfectly with that too!

Planchetten

Glass bathroom wall shelves also called “shelf brackets”. You often see them in the bathroom.

But nowadays people are also choosing a more natural look such as wood. You can say that wood is completely on its way back in the bathroom.

There were glass shelves in my bathroom. This was placed in the early 00's by the previous occupant. Glass in combination with stainless steel. Not exactly a pleasant choice after my idea.

I decided to replace the planchettes with wood look planks. Because they come into the bathroom and must therefore be waterproof and indestructible, I therefore opted for wood-look planks. Also called MFC shelves. I chose the color: De Saniclass planchette wood heat

It looks and feels like real wood, but it is therefore a perfect imitation with the aim that it remains beautiful for years. The color can be described as light wood, and with a gray tinge.

Towels rack

Unfortunately the bathroom lacks a bathroom cupboard. Fortunately, we have a closet in the hallway, and we can keep the bathroom free of furniture. But because you would like to put your towel somewhere, I opted for a towel rack. De ¨seals skin brix¨

In the SALE for less than € 45,- which I thought was a nice price. I chose a black color instead of. wit. White quickly fades in a terra bathroom with cream tiles, and black gives just a little more spice.

And to top it off a mega soft one badmat! And it was also discounted.

In terms of investment you are less than € 200,- and you have a wonderful upgrade of your bathroom! The plants are also doing well! If you have a window in your bathroom, plants can grow fine. TIP: a fern is also a perfect bathroom plant!

Now I have inspired the bathroom styling on the terra shades. But if you have a black or white bathroom, it is of course also wonderful to add natural elements in the form of plants and wood. As long as the basis is not too pronounced, you can keep up with the latest interior trends for years by adding just a few accessories!
