De afgelopen 9 jaar was ik zo ongeveer dagelijks in de kringloopwinkel te vinden. Altijd op zoek naar dat ene bijzondere gelukje. Maar de afgelopen 3 jaar ging dat niet zo makkelijk meer. De kringloopwinkel werd steeds populairder door de opkomende vintage interieur trend. Steeds meer mensen begonnen de liefde voor oud interieur te waarderen.

De kringloopwinkels speelden hierop in. Er werden “retro” hoekjes gecreëerd met daarin uitgeselecteerd design voor een prijs waar je u tegen zegt.

In Groningen aan de Ulgersmaweg zit de Fair Back. Een hele grote loods vol kleingoed en heel veel meubels. Ik zag een setje keukenstoelen staan maar zonder prijs. Precies wat ik zag aankomen. En dat deze stoelen niet puntgaaf waren, en toch eigenlijk gekregen waren? deed niet ter zake in de prijs.

Ik bedankte vriendelijk voor de dure stoelen en nam de IKEA stoelen mee. Voor de geruststelling van de baas, (die de stoelen intussen aandachtig bestudeerde) zei ik er nog even bij dat het maar “just” IKEA stoelen waren.

Tuurlijk mag de kringloopwinkel met zijn tijd meegaan. En die prijsjes hoeven echt niet voor een appel en een ei. Maar ik zie dat een aantal kringloopwinkels zich verliezen in de hype en doorslaan.

Dit schrikt klanten af, en schaad het imago van de vroeger zo leuke sociale laagdrempelige winkel voor iedereen. Ik wil best een beetje meer betalen, maar voor een designwinkel prijs ga ik wel naar een echte designwinkel. Een leuke styling hoeft niet duur te zijn! Er is nog wel een beetje hoop voor alle kringloopliefhebbers. Ik wil jullie zo graag inspireren om tweedehands te kopen. Het kost wat meer moeite voor mij, maar het kan dus nog wel.

En mijn tip; the years 80/90 stijl is net zo leuk. En deze trend is door de kringloopwinkels nog niet opgepikt!
